Camp Staff Requirements

Thank you for visiting this page prior to applying to work in one of our summer programs. Each summer we hire approximately 200 staff to serve our camp of 200-250 participants. This is a paid position, with room and board provided for the duration of the camp season.

We sometimes get hundreds of application for staff each year. So, please read through such that you know your application will be considered.

1. Make sure the application is complete, even if you have to come back later. This includes leaving references. If you do not wish us to contact them, you can choose “do not contact”.
2. Make sure the application is thorough. If only one or two sentences or words are left in the various areas, this does not provide us enough to review your skills and qualifications.
3. Make sure you meet the criteria of the position(s) you are willing to be considered for.

Here are some criteria that should help quickly establish what it is required for your application to be considered for a given role.

Our Campintouch staff application is generally for individuals interested in the program positions on camp. Due to the size of the programs as well as the highly sensitive nature of the work, we generally are not hiring program staff (counselors) solely to work in our travel programs.

Please note, due to the confusion and upset that it can cause when some are hired and others are not, we have come to the conclusion that it is best to hold a universal policy not to offer summer employment to our former camp or travel participants. We know there are many wonderful programs out there that can equally benefit from their work contribution and we support giving a bridge towards other opportunities. Thus we are happy to provide a letter demonstrating any relevant information from that person’s contribution during their time in the Upper Camp program, such as work ethic in the dining hall or other areas on camp.

Please contact us at info@summitcamp.com for any information.
