Adventure – Ropes, Climbing Wall, Mountain Biking

Summit’s Adventure area includes all the aspects of an outdoor education program you would expect to see at camp, including low and high ropes, a climbing tower, mountain biking, camp craft, and more.

Comprised of 12-15 full time staff, the Adventure team is specially trained to safely and securely operate all areas of the program. This includes belaying campers and other staff while on the equipment, instruction in various ropes and camp craft activities, and properly maintaining the campfire areas for Campfire Night evening activities. They also host the daily lunch and dinner cook-outs for individual bunks! Needless to say, they are a very busy group of people.

Our Adventure team lead, Sarah Peer, has spent the last two summers at Summit as the Head of Adventure and will be returning for a third season in 2017. She also continues her work in outdoor education throughout the year.

If you are particularly interested in the Adventure program, Summit offers a specialty course in the A2, 2 week session for those campers who wish to do a bit more Adventure- including off camp canoe trips to the Delaware, hiking trips, and more.
